The third and final event of the Fed-Ex playoffs and what used to signal the end of the season. Golf carries on year round these days. This week presents a unique tournament in that the seasons accumulated points are for the first time ever converted into a handicap. Justin Thomas ranked number 1 starts on -10 whilst those at the bottom of this 30 man field start on level par and everyone in between is allocated an appropriate score. The way to think of this is a five round tournament and Thursday is Round 2. The format means JT goes off 5/2 favourite. If this was not such a big event and we weren’t looking to land a third winner in three weeks this would probably be one to avoid. Just two picks this week made in conjunction with @twopoundpunt   Xander Schauffele 30/1 EW Skybet/Betfair Thomas/Schauffele 50/1 Dual Forecast...

This week the top 70 in the Fed-Ex playoffs visit the scene of the ‘Miracle of Medina’. A course for the bombers, I am finding it hard to not back Koepka but I think this could be the week Justin Thomas converts his recent form into a win. In truth you could easily justify backing Koepka, Rory, DJ or the red hot Jon Rahm. The course should suit all but the odds reflect their chances.   Justin Thomas 14/1EW Patrick Reed 25/1EW Jordan Spieth 33/1EW Billy Horschel 50/1EW...

A nice 4th place for Victor Hovland last week but a disappointing end to a day that saw 3 of the 5 picks in the top 10 at one stage on Sunday. The Fed-Ex play offs start this week in New York. The top 125 in the standings for the season will become the the top 70 before the top 30 tee off at the Tour Championship in a new format for 2019. I made an error in not picking Brooks Koepka a couple of weeks ago. 8/1 is woefully short in such a big field but big if you like a player as much as I do this week. If he carries on being as dominant as he’s been in 2019 we may look back fondly at the days when you could once back this guy at anything over 5s in any field.   Brooks Koepka 8/1 Xander Schauffele 33/1 EW Patrick Reed 50/1 EW Colin Morikawa 50/1 EW Matthew Wolff 100/1...
