With news coming through that altior is lame  I made a change, also the going now being heavy should suit most of my selections.

CORAL CUP 2M5F

Henderson trained William Henry comes into this off the back of a good run at Kempton, seen off a few of todays rivals. Certainly seems to prefer anything over 2m, and I get the impression he may be open to even further than todays trip. Was last a winner here at Cheltenham and the jockey that day Davey russel won’t be on board but Henderson has book the equally impressive James Bowen one of my fave jockeys around at the moment. William Henry is no stranger to the tough task he faces here as been sent out here on three occasions winning once and going close the other two times.

BETWAY QUEEN MOTHER CHASE 1m7f

With the whispers of altior being ruled out this must be music to the ears of all other competitors, in particular one of which altior called the halt to a five timer and I think now goes with a massive chance of taking this. Politologue who was beaten by altior last time out will certainly love these testing conditions, has ran here before so knows the course, yet to win here but that isn’t enough to put me off, horse has improved leaps and bounds since last appearing here certainly maturing into something special. Can see min being many people’s preferred choice but no way is politologue a 12/1 shot a great ew bet for me.

FRED WINTER 2m8f

I’e sided with mitchouka here, has a preference for todays trip boasting an impressive 5 wins, main factor was the versatility on the going horse has won on various goings, on the plus factor now has a preference for testing conditions so the heavy going will now suit. Mitchouka has already seen some support in the market was sent out at 16’s and seen 9/1 about now. On viewng last run yes it was a lesser race, he took the last two perfectly before coasting clear another horse in which a further trip will suit. Nice to see Davey russel retain the ride too a big plus. Since making the switch from the flat, Mitchouka has been sent over hurdles seven times winning four and placing the rest. FORM
