The NFC and AFC Championship games this weekend both have the look of a done deal about them but sport, more often than not, doesn’t work that way and from a personal point of view I am hoping for a couple of upsets. A NAP, Next Best (NB) and a juicy outsider (IWAC) for each game below plus a couple of specials.

Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs were almost down and out a couple of minutes into last weeks game at home to Houston . 0-24 and unable to catch a pass or even a punt. Their recovery was astonishing although ably assisted by another coaching masterclass from Bill O’Brien on the Texans sideline. However when you are led by Patrick Mahomes, any lead can be overcome.
If Tennessee have any kind of chance it’s surely Derrick Henry and his talent for running all over opponents. If the Titans are to win I imagine they will want KC to start exactly like they did a week ago. If that were to happen expect TEN to run the ball for the rest of the night.
It’s all very well knowing how to do it, quite another actually doing it against a team as talented as the Chiefs who as we saw last week are quite capable of scoring four times in a Quarter.

IWAC: Anthony Firsker Anytime TD 11/1

Green Bay Packers @ San Francisco 49ers: There is probably more chance of an upset in the NFC Championship than the AFC but in truth it’s difficult to see anything but a Chiefs-Niners Super Bowl in two weeks time.
San Fran seem to have it all right now. A Defence capable of shutting down anyone, including Aaron Rodgers, a more than adequate Quarterback, three effective running backs, receivers who can stretch the field plus the brilliant George Kittle at Tight End.
Green Bay can find a way to win this game and if they do it will be via Davante Adams speed and Aaron Jones pounding the rock against a very effective Niners Defence. I expect a San Francisco win but Aaron Rodgers can keep any team honest and they should at least keep this close.
