Ready and able won nicely at Aintree but honestly that wasn’t a great race with the second running midfield next time off the same mark, plus it will be the shortest turn around in the horses career which is a worry. Also the fact this is a petemps series qualifier is a worry so 5th place is the best finishing position for a horses connections but I hope they are running with the best of intentions. This horse won the champion bumper at Cheltenham in the past so quality and class are two things you can’t question. He has had loads of injury problems through his career but if he wasn’t ready to go Pipe wouldn’t send him so I’m taking that on trust but I’m pretty confident he’ll be fit enough to do himself justice.

This horse is trending in the right direction and was very well backed in a hotter contest LTO unfortunately unseating but if he can get his jumping right which he should I think his mark of 106 is very workable indeed especially in the context of this race there are a few which are “unexposed” horses but just because we haven’t seen them much doesn’t always mean there is more to come. The rest of the feild are solidish low level performers so hopefully should be able to make short work of them.
